NEW YORK CITY  — The NYGOP today released the following statement after U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton, a President Trump appointee, charged the organizer of SantaCon with fraud: 

“New Yorkers of all backgrounds can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the organizer of one of the city’s most troublesome traditions is finally being brought to justice. For too many years, SantaCon has tested the patience of residents, small businesses, and anyone attempting to enjoy a December weekend in peace.

“New Yorkers might now look forward to a holiday season free of brawling, vomiting cretins – and they’ve got Republicans to thank for it.”
