NYGOP Statement on Jack Martins’ Retirement

ALBANY  — NYGOP Chair Ed Cox released the following statement:

“Jack Martins has been one of New York’s most effective, principled, and respected public servants. From his time as Mayor of Mineola to his tenure in the State Senate, Jack built a reputation as a thoughtful leader who delivered real results for his constituents and always put his community first.

“In Albany, Jack was a steady voice for fiscal responsibility, public safety, and common-sense governance. He earned the trust of colleagues on both sides of the aisle, proving that serious leadership and a commitment to getting things done still matter.

“More recently, Jack played a critical role as co-chair of the Independent Redistricting Commission, helping lead the fight for a fair and lawful redistricting process. At a time when Democrats sought to rig the maps for partisan gain, Jack stood firm for transparency, integrity, and the rule of law—efforts that proved instrumental in securing a more balanced outcome for New York voters.

“On behalf of the New York Republican Party, I thank Jack Martins for his years of dedicated service to our state and wish him and his family all the best in the years ahead.”
