Statement from NYGOP Chair Ed Cox in response to Schumer op-ed

ALBANY – NYGOP Chair Ed Cox released the following statement in response to an op-ed published in the New York Times today by Senator Chuck Schumer:

“While Senator Schumer rightfully points out the alarming rise of anti-Semitism in America, he stops short of explicitly calling out his partisan allies, namely Reps. Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

“In addition, we are seeing the bitter harvest of woke ideology at institutions of higher learning and secondary schools like Parkside High School in Queens. Treating Israel and Jews as ‘colonizers’ and viewing every issue through the distorted prism of ‘intersectionality’ and ‘victimization’ has polluted the minds of many young people.  These viewpoints are fundamentally against traditional American values and are destructive to our society.

“Senator Schumer’s silence on the radical left is revealing. Until he can muster the courage to directly confront leftwing anti-Semitism by name, his message rings hollow.”
