Cox: Gillibrand Tone-deaf on Border, Anti-Semitism

ALBANY – NYGOP Chair Ed Cox released the following statement in response to an interview with Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand published by AMNY:

“In this AMNY puff piece, Senator Gillibrand was predictably tone-deaf on two of the areas in which her party is doing the most damage to New Yorkers.

“On the subject of illegal immigration, she repeated the laughable idea that most migrants in New York are here with legitimate asylum claims, when it’s obvious that the overwhelming majority are here as economic migrants. She then ran through a litany of ‘solutions’ to this crisis, covering everything other than the one thing that would make a difference: demanding that the Biden administration close the border.

“On Israel, she failed to mention or condemn the wave of radical left-wing anti-Semitism sweeping New York and the country. This was a perfect opportunity to call out the members of her party who have fomented this hatred, namely Reps. Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, Jamaal Bowman and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.”
