ALBANY — NYGOP Chair Ed Cox today released the following statement in response to New York Democrats’ votes against bipartisan legislation in the House to fight unemployment fraud:
“Unemployment insurance fraud is a big issue in New York State and across the nation. Despite an estimated $11 billion in UI fraud in New York State, every U.S House Democrat from New York voted against bipartisan legislation to crack down on fraudsters.
“While New York Democrats turn a blind eye to fraud, last week 10 of their Democratic colleagues in the House voted with the GOP to pass this legislation.”
