ALBANY — NYGOP Chair Ed Cox today released the following statement in response to Senate Bill S6637, introduced by Senator Michelle Hinchey (D), which would provide a $500 tax credit to New Yorkers who receive abortions and gender reassignment surgeries:

“This bill is so morally repugnant it’s hard to believe it’s real. Incentives drive behavior and the radical progressives like Senator Hinchey in control of the legislature want to incentivize more abortions and more irreversible gender mutilation surgeries on minors.

“Kathy Hochul should immediately announce her intention to veto this vile legislation, should it reach her desk.”
