ALBANY  — The New York Republican Party today blasted Attorney General Letitia James for refusing to release her tax returns, raising serious questions about her transparency and accountability.

James’ refusal stands in stark contrast to other elected officials – Governor Hochul, Comptroller DiNapoli, and Mayor Mamdani have all released their returns. 

“Blaming staff and refusing to answer even the most basic questions raises a serious question: What is Letitia James hiding? New Yorkers are tired of the double standard. If she wants the public’s trust, she should start by telling the truth,” said NYGOP Chair Ed Cox.

“New Yorkers deserve full transparency from their Attorney General—anything less is unacceptable.”
