ALBANY – NYGOP Chair Ed Cox released the following statement in response to a report that Andrew Cuomo and his top aides were involved in drafting a report on his role in nursing home fatalities during the COVID-19 pandemic:

“Andrew Cuomo’s corruption and disastrous decisions during the COVID-19 pandemic have once again been laid bare for all to see. This latest report further exposes how Cuomo and his inner circle misled New Yorkers, covered up critical information, and prioritized their political careers over the safety and well-being of our most vulnerable citizens. His deliberate mishandling of nursing home deaths is a tragic and unforgivable chapter in New York’s history.

“Now, as Cuomo attempts a political comeback, New Yorkers must not forget the lives lost and the rampant corruption that defined his tenure. Cuomo’s self-serving actions and abuse of power have no place in public service.”
