“Today’s ruling on our Article 78 lawsuit forces JCOPE to live up to their legal obligations, which they apparently have been ignoring because they are controlled by Governor Cuomo. It is clear from sworn testimony and hard evidence there is little doubt that Cuomo committed the crime of abusing state resources for personal and political gain.

“Every New Yorker should be deeply alarmed by the notion that the legal body responsible for rooting out corruption is beholden to the Governor and apparently broke its own laws to cover up his crimes.

“We are pleased with the judge’s decision, but it never should have come to this, particularly during an election year when the public had a right to know. We will not rest until there is justice and a truly independent ethics body that will go after corruption without fear or favor, no matter where it leads.”
