Statement from NYGOP Chairman Nick Langworthy on the Attorney General’s Bombshell Investigation Revealing Cuomo’s Coverup of Nursing Home Deaths

“Earlier this morning, New York Attorney General Tish James released the findings of a bombshell investigation that revealed Andrew Cuomo engaged in a coverup of his nursing home deaths and issued a false report underreporting the number of deaths by 50%. 

“This news is not all that surprising for those of us who have been following the facts, but the significance that New York’s left-wing Attorney General implicated him for his actions cannot be understated. These findings will have implications across New York State and they cannot be dismissed as ‘political attacks.’ 

“Andrew Cuomo was the only governor in America to have a deadly combination of policies that forced covid patients into nursing homes and prohibited them from testing. He then used the power and resources of the state government to engage in a coverup– issuing false reports, trying to hide his Executive Order and using the platform of his briefings to lie to New Yorkers.

“The veil is being lifted on Cuomo’s lies and incompetence. While this is a good start to getting to the truth, there must be further investigation and ultimately, accountability for all those involved, including the Governor himself. He cannot escape justice.”
