Statement from NYGOP Chair Ed Cox on the Murder of Two Israelis in Washington, D.C.

Cox: Democrats must expel members who glorify Hamas

ALBANY – NYGOP Chair Ed Cox released the following statement following the murder of two Israelis in Washington, D.C. last night by a pro-Palestinian terrorist:

“The murder of two Israelis in our nation’s capital last night is a horrific act of antisemitic violence, a hate-fueled terror strike carried out in the heart of our democracy. Radical, left-wing antisemitism is not only rising in America, it is emboldened, violent and deadly.

“This bloodshed comes amid a shameful moral collapse by the Democratic Party. For months, Democrats have coddled and defended the most vile, hate-spewing elements of their coalition, from Members of Congress who glorify terrorists, to campus radicals who block the movements of Jews on campus. Their silence in the face of this growing menace has created an environment where Jewish lives are seen as expendable and antisemitic violence is tolerated or even excused.

“There must be no moral equivocation. The Democratic Party must immediately and unequivocally expel from its ranks those who glorify Hamas, traffic in antisemitic tropes and incite hatred against Israel and the Jewish people. Anything less is complicity.

“The Republican Party stands firmly and unapologetically with Israel, with the Jewish people and with every American who believes that hatred and terror have no place in our nation.”
