ALBANY – NYGOP Chair Ed Cox released the following statement in response to the above data, released by Axios, that shows New York City shrinking while red-state cities boom:

“New York City’s population decline is yet another indictment of failed Democrat leadership. While red-state cities thrive with booming economies, safe streets, and opportunity, New Yorkers are fleeing crushing taxes, rampant crime, and a cost of living crisis created by one-party rule. Albany Democrats have driven away businesses, families, and the middle class. This trend will continue until we elect Republicans and make New York a place where people want to stay, not leave.”
