Statement from NYGOP Chair Ed Cox on anti-Semitic Attack at Cooper Union

ALBANY – NYGOP Chair Ed Cox today released the following statement:

“The video from Cooper Union yesterday was appalling: we can clearly see Jewish students forced to barricade themselves behind locked doors, terrorized by a rabid crowd of anti-Semitic students.

“This is the latest example in a series of incidents that comprise a modern-day pogrom.

“New York’s Democratic leaders, especially Kathy Hochul and Chuck Schumer, must immediately and forcefully condemn these and similar atrocities taking place around the country, and take steps to purge the Democratic Party of open anti-Semites in their ranks, including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who along with her fellow ‘squad’ members are the face of modern-day anti-Semitism in America.

“Colleges and universities should expel any students participating in such violent or threatening activities. Any foreign students participating in such activity should be deported from the United States. Turning a blind eye to bigoted and violent demonstrations is simply unacceptable.

“The Republican Party will always stand with Jewish Americans and their right to live peacefully and free from fear.”
