ALBANY  — The NYGOP released the following statement in response to Kathy Hochul’s silence on the murder of Sheridan Gorman:

“It has been five days of silence from Kathy Hochul since one of her constituents, an 18-year-old college freshman from Westchester County, was brutally murdered by an illegal immigrant in Chicago, a sanctuary city. 

“Sheridan Gorman’s life was cut short due to the very sanctuary policies that Kathy Hochul supports, including the prohibition of communication between federal immigration authorities and local law enforcement.

“Democrats are running their usual playbook: ignoring the horrific real-world consequences of their radical policies and relying on a compliant media to bury the story. But New Yorkers are paying attention. The least Kathy Hochul can do is to say her name.”
