NYGOP Chair Ed Cox on the loss of 1,550 more jobs

ALBANY – NYGOP Chair Ed Cox released the following statement in response to the closure of the century-old Sumimoto tire plant in Western New York and the loss of 1,550 jobs:

“This tragic loss of jobs is a stark reminder of the hostile environment Kathy Hochul and Albany Democrats have created for businesses and working families across our state.

“This is not an isolated incident. Crippling taxes, skyrocketing energy costs and anti-business regulations are driving businesses out of New York and pushing our citizens to seek opportunity elsewhere.

“While voters around the country are turning the Republican Party for change, Kathy Hochul is doubling down on the failed policies that make it impossible for businesses to thrive and grow. Republicans will continue fighting for pro-growth, pro-jobs policies to restore New York’s promise.”
