| ALBANY — NYGOP Chair Ed Cox released the following statement calling on Kathy Hochul to opt into the Trump administration’s federal tax credit scholarship program, which would give credits as high as $1,700 for donations to scholarship-granting organizations: “Governor Hochul has a simple choice: stand with New York’s neediest kids, or stand with Randi Weingarten. “This commonsense policy gives donors a federal tax credit for contributions that expand educational options for low- and middle-income families — at no cost to the state. 28 states have already signed on, including some with Democrat Governors, but Kathy Hochul’s delay risks locking out New York’s neediest families – all to appease cynical teachers union bosses, who are happy to trap kids in failing schools to line their own pockets.” ### |
