NEW YORK CITY — NYGOP Chair Ed Cox released the following statement following a bombshell report in the New York Post revealing that dozens of government-funded preschools from the de Blasio era are sitting unused, costing taxpayers nearly one hundred million dollars in wasted rent payments:

“These Potemkin Preschools are a perfect symbol of failed Democratic governance: grand promises, lavish spending, and nothing to show for it but waste, leaving hardworking New Yorkers footing the bill.

“Zohran Mamdani wants to throw good money after bad and double down on this failed experiment. History has shown time and again that communism and central planning do not work. New Yorkers should not be forced to keep relearning that lesson through the failures of the modern Democratic Party.”
