ALBANY — NYGOP Chair Ed Cox released the following statement in response to Chief Judge Rowan Wilson’s latest partisan scheme, which exploits a technical loophole to stack an important judicial screening committee with partisan Democrats, in violation of the spirit of the New York State Constitution, which requires it to be politically balanced:

“Judge Wilson already made a farce out of this important committee by appointing ‘Sex in the City’ actress Cynthia Nixon. Now, he is giving New Yorkers a master class in Albany corruption. His latest pick is a lifelong Democrat who had his voter registration history ‘purged’ to appear ostensibly as an independent, circumventing the State Constitution’s requirement for political balance.

“New York’s court system was once the most respected in the nation. Thanks to Judge Wilson and one-party Democrat rule, our courts have been hopelessly corrupted.”
