ALBANY – NYGOP Chair Ed Cox released the following statement in response to Paula Collins’, Democrats’ nominee to challenge Chairwoman Elise Stefanik, call to send supporters of President Trump to “re-education camps“.

“On the day we remember the sacrifices of so many brave Americans to liberate Europe from tyranny, the Democrats’ nominee in NY-21 makes it clear that she supports bringing that very tyranny to our shores.

“Ms. Collins’ statement is both un-American and inhumane, and anathema to the values of free speech and pluralism that have sustained us as a nation for nearly a quarter of a millennium.

“Every Democrat — but especially Democratic Congressional Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Rep. Pat Ryan and Rep. Tom Suozzi — must immediately and unequivocally condemn Ms. Collins’ remarks.”
