NYGOP NAMES JOE BORELLI A SPOKESMAN FOR 2020

Chairman Langworthy taps popular New York City Councilman Joe Borelli to help spread the NYGOP’s messaging in the critical 2020 election cycle

New York, NY–December 23rd…New York Republican Party Chairman Nick Langworthy has appointed New York City Council Minority Whip Joe Borelli (R-Staten Island) as a spokesman for the NYGOP heading into the critical 2020 election cycle. Borelli’s appointment is part of an overall effort to strengthen and enhance the Party’s communications into key constituencies across New York State. Borelli with work with the state party’s communications team to facilitate interviews, debate and political analysis and speaking opportunities across all platforms.
“When I took over as state chairman, I committed to growing the party from the ground up, and part of that effort is to empower local leaders to help spread the message that the Republican Party is the party of taxpayers and commonsense,” said NYGOP Chairman Nick Langworthy. “Joe Borelli is a young, dynamic and proven effective communicator who is exactly the type of ambassador we need to engage voters and help expose the destructive policies of the radical Democrats.”
“Whether its pushing back against the radical agendas coming from Andrew Cuomo and Bill de Blasio, or supporting President Trump and our efforts to take back the House, I look forward to being on the front lines of the fight for our future,” said Borelli.  “Democrats in Albany are already deciding to raise $6b in taxes from hard-working New Yorkers, Democrats in Washington only care about impeaching the President and the mayor is sleeping late at Gracie Mansion dreaming about his robot tax.  It will be my mission to point out the obvious.”
In addition to his role over the past four years as the council’s Republican Whip, Borelli also serves as the chairman of its committee on Fire and Emergency Management, which has jurisdiction over the FDNY and NYC Emergency Management. Borelli also served in the New York State Assembly from 2013 to 2015, during which he was rated as the most conservative member from New York City.
Borelli brings a strong resume to the party’s communications team, having served as a surrogate for the Trump campaign in 2016, and as a surrogate for the RNC ever since. He has been featured or appeared often on a noteworthy number of shows, including Fox & Friends, Cavuto Live, Your World with Neil Cavuto, America’s Election HQ, Fox & Friends First, Anderson Cooper 360, CNN Tonight with Don Lemon, Erin Burnett Outfront, The Lead with Jake Tapper, New Day, CNN At this Hour, CNN Newsroom, Reliable Sources, Varney & Co., Making Money with Charles Payne, Cavuto Coast to Coast, After the Bell, Bulls and Bears, Good Morning Britain, Good Day NY, Inside City Hall, Mornings on 1, PIX11 News Closeup, and BBC Beyond 100 Days, as well as participating in BBC and Sky News election night coverage in 2016 and 2018.
