Statement from Chairman Cox on Senator Farley's Retirement
May 3, 2016
"It's impossible to list of all of Senator Farley's achievements over the last four decades of service, but to sum it up, he has played an instrumental role in improving the lives of New Yorkers in nearly every aspect. He has been a leading advocate in the areas of education and libraries, the environment, banking, economic development and issues affecting senior citizens. He garnered national acclaim for many of his legislative accomplishments, including the first in the nation hospice law, his role in developing the EPIC senior pharmaceutical program, and his work cracking down on money laundering in the financial industry.
"After 40 exemplary years of service, I simply say: Thank you for being a great friend, mentor and above all, a great New Yorker, whose sage advice will continue to be invaluable."
