NYGOP ANNOUNCES FLORIDA GOVERNOR RICK SCOTT TO HEADLINE 2017 GALA
Governor Scott's Record is Proof Pro-Growth Leadership Can Transform a State
New York--May 22nd...The New York Republican State Committee today announced Florida Governor Rick Scott will headline its 2017 annual gala on June 20th in New York City.
Governor Scott, who also serves as vice-chair of the Republican Governor's Association, is widely credited with turning Florida's economy around through pro-growth policies, which cut taxes by $5.6 billion and burdensome regulations, leading to the creation of 1.26 million new private-sector jobs. He has also focused on education reform, giving Florida its highest public-school graduation rate in 13 years and the lowest crime rate in 45 years.
"We're thrilled to welcome Governor Scott to New York as our special guest and featured speaker," said NYGOP Chairman Ed Cox. "Florida's economic turnaround under Governor Scott is living proof that with the right leadership and pro-growth policies, states can excel. I can't think of a better contrast to Governor Cuomo, whose policies are strangling New York's economy and driving New Yorkers in record numbers to other states."
Cox concluded, "We are sending a message loud and clear: more than a decade of Democratic governors hasn't worked, and now is the time for New York's turnaround. A more effective and efficient government is possible with a different governor."
Further details about the gala and instructions for media wishing to cover this event will be forthcoming.
