COX: CORRUPTION AND MISMANAGEMENT AT CENTER OF CUOMO'S FAILED ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT SCHEMES
New Details on Collapse of Utica Nano Deal Show Governor Lied About Howe's Involvement With Cuomo Administration
New York--December 28th...Corruption and gross mismanagement are at the center of Governor Cuomo's failed economic development schemes, with new details on the collapse of the Utica nano project proving Governor Cuomo lied about the Administration's close affiliation with indicted lobbyist Todd Howe, today charged the New York Republican State Committee.
In a New York Times story published last night, it was reported with detailed accounts from those involved, that months of mismanagement, neglect and the empowerment of corrupt officials by the Governor's office led to the collapse of the Utica nano deal, leaving AMS chip manufacturer with no choice but to pull out of the project.
The story also revealed the Governor's office directed local Utica officials to use Todd Howe as their liaison to their office, telling them "if they need anything, they should go through Mr. Howe." These details directly contradict the Governor's statements about his affiliation with Mr. Howe, despite a detailed history proving a close friendship and high level of access and power within his administration. Mr. Howe was also at the center of the Buffalo Billion project, leading to his indictment on bribery and kickback schemes.
"Cuomo's web of lies and propaganda schemes are closing in on him," said NYGOP Chairman Ed Cox. "To distract from his massive failures, he's now trashing the State Constitution and abandoning two centuries of tradition by turning the annual State of the State message into a slimy PR tour. No matter how many smoke screens he tries to throw up, the ugly truth about his corruption, his insatiable quest for absolute power, and his mismanagement of the state is becoming clear to all New Yorkers. We are witnessing the collapse of his administration."
